If you’ve noticed strange odors when running the tap, unsightly mineral stains, or that unpleasant chlorine taste, your home’s water quality is likely compromised.
At DG Custom Builders, we provide specialized basement water filtration services right here in Yorkville, IL, installing systems that effectively remove contaminants, improve taste, and protect your plumbing and appliances. We believe every home deserves clean, great-tasting water, and we’re here to make that happen with a reliable, whole-house solution.
Poor water quality affects more than just the taste of your coffee—it impacts your health, your plumbing system, and the longevity of your most expensive appliances.
Protecting Your Home: Hard water, common in many areas, leaves calcium and magnesium buildup. This mineral scale clogs pipes, shortens the life of your water heater, washing machine, and dishwasher, and leaves unsightly spots on dishes and fixtures. Filtration minimizes this costly damage.
Improving Health and Taste: Municipal water is safe, but it often contains chlorine and other residual chemicals that affect flavor and smell. Well water can have high levels of iron, sulfur, or sediment. A robust water filtration system removes these chemicals and minerals, providing clean, fresh water directly from every tap.
Peace of Mind: Knowing that the water used for drinking, cooking, and bathing is purified and free of common local contaminants gives you and your family important peace of mind.
Installing a basement water filtration system isn’t a one-size-fits-all job. We carefully assess your water quality and usage to recommend the perfect setup, often combining different technologies for comprehensive results.
Whole-House Carbon Filters: These are fantastic for tackling chlorine, improving taste, and reducing odors throughout the entire home.
Water Softeners: Essential for homes with hard water, these systems remove minerals that cause scale buildup, extending the life of your appliances and making soaps more effective.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) Units: These systems are typically installed at the sink level for ultra-pure drinking water, removing even the smallest dissolved solids.
Specialty Filters: For specific issues like high iron content or sulfur odors common with well water, we install targeted filtration solutions that address the exact problem.
As experienced general contractors, we ensure your filtration system is installed safely and efficiently into your main water line in the basement.
Water Testing: We often recommend preliminary testing to understand the specific composition of your water supply.
System Sizing and Selection: Based on test results and your home’s needs, we select and size the appropriate equipment.
Meticulous Installation: We expertly cut into the main water line and install the filter unit, ensuring proper bypass valves and connections are in place for easy future maintenance.
Final Check: We test the system flow rate and ensure all connections are leak-free before finalizing the job.
Installing a whole-house system is more complex than a faucet filter—it requires plumbing expertise, knowledge of water flow dynamics, and attention to detail. Choosing us for your basement water filtration ensures that the system is installed correctly, integrated seamlessly with your existing plumbing, and positioned for easy maintenance. We provide honest recommendations and reliable service, delivering the clean water quality your Yorkville home deserves.
